Heroic Madness of Deathwing is dead and with it comes the end of the Tier! We've also completed our first set of legendaries, and are recruiting for Mists! More after the break.

The latter part of heroic DS has been more of a marathon for us than a sprint, but in the end our raid team as usual came through in the clutch with a two-shot of spine last night. The kill was a bit more catharsis than anything else, but we still found time to have a nice party on the bank steps. Madness is now all that remains, and we are hard at work with it!

We've gotten off to a slower start this tier then our usual pace due to the Holidays and what not, but I'll stop the wheel of excuses at that. Bottom line, as per usual I asked my team to step up and they've rebounded in true Drow fashion. We'll finish off this zone in short order and get ready for some Pandas. As always team I appreciate everyone's time, effort, and creativity as we managed most of these kills with some interesting comps and a ton of patience.
Hope everyone's enjoying the New Year, Happy Hunting!

If you follow World of Warcraft progression you should know that Heroic Ragnaros was dropped on our laps as one of the hardest encounters ever put into the game. It lived up to the hype. Until this week there were only 6 US kills. The first top World Kills came from guilds who essentially pulled him 500 times straight until he died. Each phase took many attempts for each player to master. The patience and focus required by any raid team to kill this encounter speaks volumes to the level of talent and dedication your team has.
Between horrendous ISPs, hurricanes.....I'll stop it's the same sob story every GM posts after they kill this...let's just say it sucked just from a composition and stability stand point.

This was a step up in difficulty for sure and we decided to add to it with an ever changing comp. Turns out in the end all you need to do is sit all your OP DPS classes and run off spec healers. It's Win Win!
Apparently Rag is serious this time. We shall see.

I take alot of pride in the fact that we don't raid like maniacs during progression. We raid 4 hours a night 5 days a week. Very rarely I push us thirty minutes to an hour here or there, but when you take into account the time put in, our relative skill level of play is off the charts compared to our competition. We aren't done yet!

There are no words for out 4th Heroic Mode kill. I'm simply going to link you to our video and hope you all watch it. If you want just the good stuff start it at around 11 minutes. Generally when you play poorly you don't anticipate the kill, you expect to reset and deal with the emotional trauma of a 1% wipe. An old school Mage of Drow had another plan in mind.

Thanks to Reesi (MT/Officer) for putting the video together.

Entered into the first heroic encounter Shannox and dispatched him rather easily. I actually find the idea of the first boss spawning based on the initial trash clear as a decent concept. It's also a straight forward boss so I encourage those of you hesitant to start heroics to go throttle this guy and collect your loot.
And then...

The second tier of content released last week and welcomed back and old friend. The good ole firelord is back and all angry and what not. We had some folks do some public testing which coupled with our gear level made for a very quick and painless normal mode clear.
This week starts heroics, fiery tornadoes, lava everywhere, and all other sorts of fun new ways to play with fire which all raiders enjoy.
Happy Hunting!

Bottom Line: Where's my title Blizzard? I recommend Salty Sirah the Awesome.
We are 1 of 4 guilds 25 man US who have accomplished this feat.
Any game, any content, and regardless of the circumstances a FLAWLESS VICTORY is no simple feat. Let alone on the final encounter of tier and with freaking alts in the comp. This isn't an achievement we were gunning for we just happened to raid like a bunch of professional badasses. The achievement calls for a kill with no deaths on the first pull. We're ready for Firelands so bring your "A" game.
