Hardmode Anub'arak - Dead.
<Insert Naxx-40 Scarab Corpse Here>
Months behind guild is months behind? Now here's the justification: Upon reaching hardmode Anub'arak, we lost our Ret Pally and his brother the Feral Druid, we lost our Enhance Shaman and his wife, a shadowpriest. We lost our DPS Warrior/Off-Tank. We lost a hunter, and her brother mage. We lost our Frost DK/OT, and our Boomkin. We went into the encounter with ONE ROGUE on the roster! ONE ROGUE! We haven't raided with one rogue since... Ever.
I'd be lying if I said we weren't expecting some fallout since we shifted to West Coast raid times, but nobody saw fallout like that on the horizon. Some of it was our new hours, some of it was people needing to step back and get a handle on RL, and some of it was... Well who the fuck knows, really, because some people just quit logging on and can't bother to tell the team jack-fucking-shit about why they stopped showing up. One can only hope a rusty crowbar found it's way up their ass. Sideways.
Moving on.
The fight isn't overly complicated, and there's plenty of wiggle-room for raid comps, but you do need a certain amount of synergy somewhere - whether if it's for your casters or melee - and we didn't have any of it. We had to dust off some old raiding vets and polish up some alts to get this one done, but that's about par for the course for Drow-WoW. There's a reason we've kept some guys on the roster for 4-years+.
Needless to say, I'm proud of the team for pulling through and I can say with all confidence we're regaining strength. Nobody walks through a ringer like that and comes out on top. The fact that we got through this shitstorm with little-to-no buff/debuff synergy tells me that when we get all our ducks in a row we'll be a dominant force in the raiding scene again.
Icecrown is rearing its head on the PTR, but thank the lord we're done with live progression for a bit so we can assemble a proper raid force to approach new content with.
We're recruiting. Quitters and Tuesday Raiders need not apply.
