I can see very little performance difference between the OB and GB. Both have their share of problems, especially with freezes, crashes, and disconnects. This differs from person to person and say to day, but this article is probably a bit too optimistic. I'm still very excited about AoC and I'm sure these issues will be addressed, but at the moment they are issues.
That was a good read. Gives me hope! Besides, I am in open beta and I have only experienced maybe three BSOD crashes the whole time I have been playing it. I have nothing negative to say about the OB besides the fact that it isn't 1-80.![]()
I been hearing they using an old client version. I hope its true. I using a vista 32 bit version even my computer is 64 bit, I plan on buying a vista 64 I heard that helps too, I hope.
Anyone knows if that help?
Help what exactly? If you have Vista 64 bit you will have access to all of your ram, and DX10. You would potentially have access to all the features if you have vista 64.Originally Posted by angellique6
help with some of the lagging. But i hoping though it is the old client version i been hearing about. Even though i still going to get the 64 bit version of Vista, my computer graphic card iz 64 bit and i have a amd athlon 64 X@ 5000, been hearing from other players that a vista 64 bit version is good to get for my type of computer.
An interesting article. However, it is important to address the issue of pre-release clients exhibiting leaks and problems regarding lockups and slowdowns. Even when using a system far surpassing that of the minimum requirements, players have noticed continous crashes and freezes of their system. This is the crucial stage of development; a chance for the game company to iron out all unnecessary flaws and bugs within their client program so that gamers can enjoy a smooth launch. Then again, finding these bugs can take a supreme amount of time. Hopefully, though, all major game-stopping crashes should be addressed in a timely manner.
Yea well it seems may 10th Open Beta goes full client status :P which i think means bad news cause if its gaining so much stuff its prolly gonna be the live client. hopefully may 10th it gets way better on performance
funcom has said that the version in open beta isnt the same as closed beta. They also said alot of issues and leaks and shuttering due to shading have been fixed for retail. I'll post the link but more or less what people are experiencing in last few weeks till launch will be alot better and smoother frame rates.

so i wouldnt worry the retail version has alot of improvements that even closed beta dont even have let alone open beta. Open beta was more for stress testing and not providing the latest up to date client.
my humble review of Age of Conan.

A great read, thanks for posting it. Also *chuckles* one bonus of me not being able to play until June is that alot of the more gamge stopping bugs should be fixed by then =) So get off ya arses & find those bugs!
