i've been at it since launch, and i do miss the diversity of 32 professions, and the abilty to mix and match as you wanted, without having to be a cookie-cutter knockoff. if you can get past the rage and hatred of what was taken from us, there is still a lot more in the game now than there was back then.

we do have the expertise in place now which offers some diversity, though not quite as broad as the old system. the common arguement is that there are only a couple valid builds per profession, but in reality, that's about all there was before that. for the melee, the bulk of people used a near identical defense stacked profession, then there was the rifle/cm crowd, or the doc/combat crowd. post-curb bh finally became a viable profession. all of these are still mostly attainable configurations with the expertise, although not quite the same as they used to be.

the biggest thing missing is the "fun" stuff, like ranger and ch. that and the ability to do cross-profession temps, like parts of entertainer, crafter, and combat all at once. i'm not an advocate for the new system as opposed to the old - i'm just saying it isnt all that bad. any cries of imbalances are really not valid, since we all know ther ehave been imbalances since day one, and there will always be imbalances especaily as far as solo pvp goes. we just don't live in a perfect world.
