My understanding of the game is currently that we will play until adverturing level 7 on an island before going to our respective cities. During this time we will be able to group with other people or solo on instanced adventures. But what I have read of artisans has all been under the assumption that they will be in a city - to ally themselves with a city smithy to get quests and access to better forges.

I can only assume that during the time on the island people will also be able to work on their artisan abilities and other skills like mining and such, but I haven't read anything specific about that. Is there a city on the island that will be similar to the respective starting cities? Since the artisan levels are not dependant on the adventuring levels (other than possible skill enhancements) an artisan might be better off staying on the island to work on their skills until they reach a higher level (or the items they make are all green) since there might be easier access to supplies on a lower level island and there will most likely be more players on the island who need weapons and armor repairs at least during the first couple months of the games release.

Btw, what is the current info on selling items back to an npc? Otherwise, how does a starting artisan get their materials to begin their trade. I can only assume you can do artisan quests where they give you supplies to make something only so many times before you no longer get xp from them.

Yes you can do tradeskills on the starting island you start on.

and tradeskillign at the start will be mostly a bunch of little quests then you tradeskill some, then another quest *to get more items / recipies* to use ect..

but you can't stay on the island for more then 7 levels? i forget how many but after a certan amout you are kicked off the island 8)

remember artisans arent a separate class anymore, also there are suppose to be alot of quests for non adventuring people to build up cash for artisan components (mostly deliveries) and these quests will be offered constantly... oh and currently there is NO limit to the number of quests that you can have active.

I remember in swg you could do delivery missions that ran from one side of a planet to another and you would get a little faction and a little cash. I can only assume this or a similar way is what we will be doing to make cash. (Wonder if in game you can do delivery missions between cities for larger cash amounts since it would be more dangerous.)

Re level 7 on the island; I understand it to be advernturing level 7 you get bumped so it should not be tied to the artisan class.

travel between cities is suppose to be for adventures lvl 20-30

When is the ?? trator ?? quest that allows you to change your city. This would be about the time you would have to travel between the cities I assume.

traitor quest done before subclass chosen (lvl 20) and its NOT suppose to be soloable, also there is bad faction between the 2 cities
