As I mentioned on another board, cool concept but no way practical. I just don't see any way for it to have enough specs to play decent enough games to justify just about any price point.

Ditto. I also have been discussing this on various other boards and i think its very cool, but not practical at all, and is trying to push a concept that doesnt have the technology yet to make it work. Maybe as hardware gets smaller... so you can pack more of a punch in a smaller package...

Also.. its interesting they are selling the keyboard as one of the innovative features... but im fairly certain there has been keyboards out there exactly like this for several years now... maybe not in such a package form, but none the less keyboards.

Yea, cool concept but noticed they have 0 specifications on the website so far... Any old laptop can run a video I want to see if it can actually handle a game being released recently let alone games comming down the pipeline in a year.

Well the keyboard you mention is the optimus maximus (http://www.artlebedev.com/everything/optimus/). To have that oled key mapping theirs alone is $1200. It says $2400 on the site, but I am pretty sure it has been seen under $1200. They had a smaller "hotkey" version that was like 6 or so keys for the bargain of $99 at one point. I don't see it anymore and have no intention of researching something that while cool is just absurd.

So using that as a litmus, I find it unfathomable that this computer can feature a nearly full keyboard and any type of decent specs and be anything outside "wishful" thinking. Plus it is really basically a consolized PC, you can't do anything with it so as a gaming platform it is heavily limited. Given the ever evolving nature of PC gaming, that even further reduces its usefulness. Now if it were somewhat specialized and did something like play PS3 games or 360 games in a portable package, then it "might" have a future. It would be infinitely easier to create a hardware package that could handle those in a reasonable price point (minus the keyboard).

But again, as mentioned. As a "Tech Demo" as anyone with a brain realizes that is all it is, it is cool as hell. Beyond that, more useless expo demo "oh wow" uselessness.

Yea, it was the coolest disappointment ever. I would totally sacrifice my G keys for a keyboard like that sub $200.

Well, oddly enough, the bottom part isn't really a keyboard but is in fact just a LCD screen with clear buttons placed on top of it. That is significantly cheaper to develop than the OLED micro desplays that have been used bofore for eachkey. It also technically makes it possible to remove the keyboard overley and just use it as a 2nd screen.

Now, i also agree that an ARM or ATOM based CPU (both of which are probably the only things that would fit) are good enough to do any real gaming on...yet.

The last statement I'll make is that Razor has kind of a bad rep in the industry in typically not being able to execute well on prototypes.

I think it is more "Razer has a bad rep for making seriously shitty products for anyone who bothers to look past cool paint and lights."

Interesting to know about the keys though, curious how durable that actually is then? Still even with an LCD that is crazy expensive. I worked for years in the computer/laptop warranty business and the one thing I know is just how much more expensive the smaller LCDs are then the standard 15's.

Unfortunately learned this the hard way. Got my first Razer product as a gift for Christmas this year (Black Widow Keyboard (http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_US/pd/productID.211324200)). Now less than a month later, the WSAD and Left Ctrl key labels are already wearing off.

Everyone bags on me when I dare to slam Razer products, but the above is the reason why. I am a huge hardware fan and not loyal beyond the current product. I gave Razer a try when they first came out and the experience was terrible. I just wish Microsoft or Logitech would buy them out and hire their designers to revamp their already extremely solid gaming offerings. Couple Razer design with either Logitech or MS quality and I would be on board all day long.
