okay ...logged in..im in tatooine...i have a green R2 following me around...did some new quest kill 10 creatures.....
anyway...got a mission from the terminal....kill kreetle nest..sounds easy....
not easy
I kill 4 kreetles guarding it then attack the nest...but they respawn! R2 doesnt help! lol
hard game thus far....is this a party required game also like FFXI?

Nope, right now this MMO is more solo based than any other MMO. There is just a trick to killing lairs that you have to pick up on. What server are you on? If you are not on Radiant and you want to play in DROW, then you best get on over to Radiant. My Smuggler/CH (Karlton) just so happens to be in Mos Eisley today. Send me a /tell and we can do a few missions to get you in the "groove".
Just an fyi...the green droid is a tutor. There are combat droids availabe that will help you in combat though. There are also pets you can get to help you as well. (even if you are not a CH, you can still use lower lvl pets to help you)

Right now, as we are changing more towards the combat revamp that is being made, the TKM pretty much dominate PVP and high end mobs. This wasn't intended, it just happened, and they are getting a big slap when the revamp hits. Its best not to even go that route and get spoiled as when it changes, most of those guys won't even know how to play the game.

TKM are great in PvE atm, but PvP they get owned unless you know what your foing with buffs food and such

:? what? Only classes better than TKM are Fencers and Rifleman, and that is just because of stun damage. DPS wise, they are highest out of all the combat profs, not to mention the auto speed cap they get at master.
They need to be hit with a nerf bat and hit hard

As if! "They already where" made far to powerful for what they are. Is more like it. There is no reason that a guy with VKs should be able to outdamage a ranged profession like a pistoleer, or even worse a Commando. Like they could really do so much more damage to something than a flame thrower. Face it, they need nerfed and bad. This is Star Wars, there is no reason for there to be so many TKAs around. I bet a poll right now in the game would find more TKMs than any other single elite profession, or at least second behind fencer, but that has the same issues and needs to be dealt with in the same manor.

pfft, commando do close to 8k dmg with their special 30 sec timer
i do 300-400 dmg in combat per second
350(average) * 30 = 10500
i barely out damage a commando, but i gott stay right next to the person to hit every second and its not a burt 8k wham most peeps die right there w/.o armor and with buffs again w/o armor + buffs peeps have plenty of time to get up from my KD and run before incap from a tkm
so go nerf commandos before you touch TKM >=P

2500 dmg is barely outdamaging? So a TKM...with only a small vibroblade is not only able to outdamage a MC by 2500 dmg in 30 seconds, the TKM is also able to do many different state effects.. KD.. meditate.. have insane accuracy... AND really good defenses. While the commando gets a flamer..an acid rifle that doesn't work...accuracy mods that barely get over 100 (if that)...no defense mods...no status mods besides flame..which is nerfed to the point of only getting about 100pnts dmg in PVP. AND they also have to stay close since NONE of their specials work beyond 16m...which "big surprise" makes them easy pickings for TKAs.
And you say nerf the commando first? :roll:
Also...no person without armor +buffs is going to get one shot by a flamer..8K hit would be 2000K...and the buffs alone are more than that. and that's if the commando hits. If they miss, they get to stand there doing nothing (but get beat up on) till their timer stops. TKAs have no timer..and if they miss...they hit again in 1 second so it doesn't matter...like they would really miss anyways :roll:

TKM has the highest damage per second excluding Jedi. That is a fact, no point in argueing it. Even with a crappy VK you will outdo most profs, even if they has millions of credits in skill tapes and uber weapons.
2 reasons. +115 unarmed speed and +250 unarmed damage.
No one else gets that close to speed modifiers, except BH/Carbine and BH/Pistols hybrids, which up until now used basically all your skill points. TKM is 92 ...... if you don't believe me try being a pistoleer or carbineer without tapes for a while and watch your damage output fall to the ground

meanwhile tka have to eat on someone for nearly 30 secs to do that dmg
if buffs are gettin nerfed to hell, commando is the new l33t proff IMO once armor is nerfed
they will 1 hit kill, not even a tkm can do that, even after the nerfs
and anika we DO have a 30 second timer on KD so if it where to fail, TKM or no we are SOL for kncokin that person down for another 30 secs, plenty of time to RLH IMO

But if Commando's miss that one shot they have ZERO damage per second for how long? Also with commando accuracy and defence stackers, missing isn't exactly a rare occassion. Also look at the comparison between defences, and then between skill points.
Master TKA = 92 Skill Points, 620 AXP
Master Commando = 169 Skill Points, 1240 AXP
TKA needs the nerf bat more than commando does.

Last I knew, no one left home without full Composite and buffage. TKMs would still outperform Commandos 9 times out of 10 without those two factors, but given how COMMON composite and buffs are, you just can't compare the two like that and say they're nearly even, or Commandos have the upper hand. I de-re-activated simply -because- the freaking TKMs and Riflemen ruled PvP over Commandos and Bounty Hunters, who got shit for the amount of skill points they had to contribute.
If and when buffs get nerfed, Commandos should be the top of the tier, BHs included. :P Commando's still a dead man against a TKM who gets the jump.
You need to Fix a profession before you can nerf it. Or so the theory goes.

my first char was a commando it was a fun class to play then we got nerfed and i died to much in pvp my flames either didnt land or were resissted. also pve was a chalenges so i made a tkm/doctor and with a few skill tapes i could kill most anything. could solo rancos pvp was o so fun you just needed to pick the right targets and not chase to many people. lol so now im a mcm/rifle cant wait till the nerfs come out ill eithe start playing awain or quit. since there is no way ill ever get to like grinding for a jedi

ok comando may be able to hit 8k in one hit but not only will the combat balance reduce buffs and amrour it will also reduce the damege done by us. So after the changes the 8k flamer will be more like doing 2k damege.

I watched Gustin Wind go toe-to-toe with a defense stacked melee the other night, for those of you who don't know Gustin he is a Dark Jedi Knight who has completed the knight trials and is perma overt. Needless to say after bout 10 min Gustin was forced to /end the duel and was extremely pissed and rightfully so. After 10 min of fighting Gustin was out of force and at about 50% health while the melee was full HAM and basicly laughing at him, this is a slap in the face to jedi who spend months to get to where Gustin is only to be humiliated by a 1week grind profession/s... there needs to be a combat revamp, most notibly in the melee profesisons... warcry and intimidate were key factors in this duel as well.
I personally can't wait for the combat revamp and welcome it with open arms :)

Just tell your friends over on the other server that you need to take a break and get over here. I'm dealing with another guild about moving in, and we still don't have our ambassador on. :P
Might want to check Cys's house as well while you are at it. With one burned down, the other might be right behind it. :roll:
