It cracks me up when I see guys on teh forums talk about a server being packed when there are 2 guys in Mos Eisley....Back then (the time in those videos) the servers were packed. Also....what moron thought that the NGE would be fast and action packed...I don't know about the rest here, but those vids certainly looked like they were fast and action packed to me.

I wouldn't be surprised in the least. If ratios are working correctly, and the drop in forum users is the same % as the gamers in game, it is very likely.

forums user totals pre nge were 3000 logged in and 7500 guests

now..they are down to 700 logged in and 1900 guests.

If the decline is the same percentage ingame as it is on the forums...and we were at say 250K users prenge (which is 50K higher than most will accept) then you can see how we would be below 100K users now.

The problem is...SOE is convinced that while those numbers are low, they will see it rebound after Christmas and all of us vets will return along with many new customers and their subs will jump to 400K and keep right on going.

The NGE itself isn't so bad. The process they used to reveal it destroyed the community that would have been needed to allow most to learn to tolorate it. A gradual phase in and perhaps just skipping the FPS targeting (the rest could have worked with the previous targeting scheme) and they could have had 90% of the NGE in place by March and we wouldn't have even noticed.

It really amazes me that SOE can be so deluded about their ability to regain subs for SWG.

Hell, even in WoW, numbers are falling (even if slightly)...folks are demanding more and more from the monthly fee, and are obviously willing to vote with their feet.

I loved SWG...was a great time I had, but I'll be damned if I ever play another SOE game!

Hehe I been reading Drow boards for awhile. I even applied for Drow EQ2 (just recently). Now to wait for an opening... Only thing I miss about SWG was the people I met, Rarsg, Freak, Wampiti, KjFett, Karenna, Sowi, actually there were a ton. Hard to name them all. BTW a famous drow now works for SWG, but I can't name names:).

Up till a couple of months ago, we had a guy working in the LAE office for SWG, but then he quit, got fired, w/e and now he just hangs out with us in CoH. :wink: SO we have someone knew on the inside? Send me a PM with the name. I need to know who to not be aorund when I go on a rampage. lol

SWG was good in the ole' days ( buggy but ... ) I remember running around the outskirts of town waiting for the call of intruding lamer rebels =P

I think its like with any business... for every successfull startup there must be 10+ that fall flat on thier face.

Its just a matter of time before the right mix shows up.
