I managed a movie theatre for a few years, so I have some soapbox statements about pirating but I won't dish it out :p However, if you want to go the torrent route, be prepared to figure out the program you will use to download. Most probably use BitTorrent, but many programs have crappy spyware they sneak onto your machine so you have to be careful.

uTorrent supports encrytped file transfer if you are wanting to hide what you are doing. I also believe in the settings it as an option to only talk to encrypted peers.

If Movie Theaters stopped bumping their price by 50 cents every 3 months i'd probably go see movies in them instead of waiting and watching them at home.

Shit it cost nearly 10 bucks to get in the door hear.. i might as well wait 3 months and buy the dvd, i can watch that whenever instead of just one time...

20 oz soda... 3.50 bag of twizzlers i could get at a convenient store for 1.20? cost me 2.50

Price gouging is all that Theaters are about now days, and i could care less about lining their wallet if thats their business.

Yeah the corporates don't care because people still go to the theatres and pay the prices. I personally made only $8.25 at the highest as a manager, so that money sure as hell wasn't really going to me. An adult ticket costs more than one hour of my work :(

i use uTorrent ... it pretty easy to use ... download the client then use ie or firefox or whatever and brows out to a torrent site like piratebay/mininova/isohunt and find your movie .. click download torrent and uTorrent will automatically open .. and away you go

just remember ... what gets you busted is sharing ... once your done downloading it ... rip it and remove it, dont share ;)

Providers are now working with fake IP's to trace other IP's that are downloading. basically..

When you download everything has a certian indentification, they trace these identifications. I even had it encrypted using uTorrent. goes to show that even comcast does not give you any internet privacy.

You have to watch torrents though, you are sharing as you download generally speaking. Thats what torrents do. Even if you aren't sharing a folder, or other stuff, you usually are sharing what you are downloading, as you get a piece it goes back out to others at the same time.

I like Vuze (http://www.vuze.com/app) it does not require that you open a port on your router and you can add friends for faster downloads (if you have the same file). Either way, you have to be very careful with torrents. I personally do not download them on my main PC but instead filter them through my media server and I have that locked, ported, only share with friends.

If you wanted to be a freak show like you can run it through two firewalls (virtual or regular) and you are safe as safe can be. Most of you that know me, know what I do for a living and this is a very easy and secure way to protect a home network.

LOL sorry, I derailed another one..I have a tendency to ramble when I talk about security :o

peerguardian ftw. like all things it won't garentee you wont get caught but will help reduce your chances a lot, just make sure to keep it updated.

if your wondering yes I use it along with uTorrent. I also only use private torrent sites to keep down on the bad torrents as well as the fakes.
