Need some opinions on 22" LCD monitors. Strictly for gaming. What's the best choices out there these days?
Samsung model (the best)

Viewsonic model
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824116060
Both have nearly the same stats with very good reviews (the viewsonic uses Samsung parts )... I have the older Viewsonic version (2years old) and its still kicks ass with no flaws.
1680x1050 rez = mo powwa. Your comp should run most games... for now.
Theres a couple more 22" monitors for another $100 but you only get a better view angle or some shitty ass speakers and thats about it.

I have been looking at both of those, but leaning towards the Viewsonic because the Samsung doesn't have a height adjustable stand.

after reading the review to me the lack of a height adjustable stand is small potatoes compared to some light bleeding and a bit of color problems on white backgrounds in the right edge of the screen. You can adjust the height fairly easily(albeit somewhat ghetto) with books or other household items :P

I got that a while back and couldn't be happier. It's hilarious when you actually get it out of the box and fire up a game on it for the first time.

Right on brother Ziros!
At least get a 1920x1200 24" so you can get more vertical rez than a 19"...
I got a Samsung 245BW a couple months back, couldn't be happier with it.

If you get a samsung, make sure you do a little research to track down where the panel is made. They come from a few different manufacturers - most are excellent (I have one, love it), but can require color tweaking.
You can find out which version you have (if you have one already):
- Set contrast and brightness to 0
- Press the « Menu » button
- Press the « Source » button for 5 seconds (the second one on the right)
A hidden ''Service Function'' menu will appear including Panel Info on the bottom which clearly indicates the panel’s origin and reference.
There was some funny drama (kind of) about the Samsung 226BW A and S series. Anyway, can read all about it HERE. (http://www.behardware.com/articles/667-1/samsung-226bw-a-and-s-series-the-verdict.html)

Top of the line monitors for LCD is Dell, Samsung and HP.
If you want a good monitor without the price tag, Ben-Q and Acer are solid. I tend to prefer Acer over Ben-Q because it has a better contrast.

I'd have bought 2. And beaten someone to death with one of them, but that's just me.

Doesn't appear to work with the 245BW that I have. The screen shows but the line they refer to is blank. The sticker on the back doesn't have any identifying letter like that either. Guess it's probably specific to that 206 line of panels.
